How to Decorate Master Bedroom on a Budget

January 04, 2016 By: Administrator Category: Bedroom

Almost free, this phrase reminds you of bartering at markets when you ask “how much is this?” and the answer is “almost free”.  There are definitely things we bought and paid for in our master bedroom.  But a lot of the big items in the room were, in fact, free, or can be made free if you like. Here are some details to help you create a bedroom you love on a budget.

Homemade pillows – Take inexpensive accent pillows and cover them with a t-shirt, pair of jeans, or other unused clothing. Or, purchase a few yards of fabric in a print that you find appealing. This is a very inexpensive way to add a fresh look to something old when decorating your master rooms.

Sometimes, decorating rooms takes a little clean up first. Remove all the excess clutter from the corners of the room, off the floor, and separate it all into organized bins, hat boxes, or baskets. Store unused items in a closet or under the bed, and keep the important stuff in a convenient location. And don’t forget this: store them neatly beneath your bed, do not put them in a mess.

Accept hand-me-downs and up-cycle them. When we say “up-cycle”, we literally mean it, not recycling. If friends or family or neighbours are getting rid of furniture, give it a chance! The big ol’ black dresser used to be a super high gloss dark dark brown pine.  We stripped the top and refinished it with stain and varathane, then painted the base black and added matching handles.

Shop big box and retail: but only buy things you love. Well, just because you are buying something at a retail or big box store, doesn’t mean that it can’t be beautiful. But only buy something if you love it. The things in the picture are all retailed stuff, like the bedding, the lamp, including the pillow. They look new, don’t they? But you see if you love it and keep it look new, everything will be beautiful for your bedroom. So don’t bother if you have limited budget for your master room, just give yourself time and let your look and style evolve as you find and make things you love.

There is another great idea of using cute cups as a place to put your jewelry and accessories in your wardrobe. Your accessories will only look like a bunch of trash if you don’t arrange them neatly.

The last tip for today, is when you want to put so much stuff on your wall, don’t forget to give enough lighting and a wide board or a wide piece of paper to be a place for the stuff get hooked on. It will make your “wall of stuff” prettier and neater, as well as classier.

If you have a small house, certainly it will be difficult for you to divide the small space into several rooms. However, in small space, it makes sense to combine different living spaces into one room to maximize the usage of the space. Rather than each occupying a space, why not let the different functions share a same space? One of the examples is the living rooms can be combined with dining rooms. The first idea is to use movable room dividers. You can use a simple room divider to separate your living room and dining room. After that, you can use sliding walls. By using sliding walls, you can decide how much space for each room, depending on your preference. You can use the type of the sliding wall which is pulled to the extreme left that the entire space becomes a dining room. Second, you can use the sliding walls which have shifted to the middle so that one half becomes a living room while the other half is a smaller dining room.

Another idea is you can use fold down furniture. One easy way is to use a fold down table to combine living room and dining room into one space. It is very effective because the fold down table does not spend a lot of space in your house.

Thus, after you read this article you can get inspiration on how combine your living room and dining room in one space. It just needs some techniques to combine those rooms. As a result, you will have an amazing living room and dining room which are separated by chic dividers.
